Handong Global University (President Chang Soon-Heung) held a graduation ceremony for international undergraduate students on June 15th in the Hyoam Annex Building 2nd floor.
In the past, international students didn’t have the chance to attend a graduation ceremony, which used to take place in February, as they had to return to home countries after school year.
Due to this reason, HGU decided to hold ‘Graduation Ceremony for International Students’ combining with the pre-existing ‘Graduation Ceremony of Mongolia UFE- HGU Dual Degree Program.’ A total of 5 international students graduated on this day—3 students who completed dual degree program and the other two students who are undergraduate and from the U.S. and Kyrgyzstan.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Kim Dae Shik gave words of encouragements and said, “You all have become a global citizen and equipped with competency based on global leadership and love. I hope that lessons learned in Handong will be used for good when you return to your home countries.”
The representative of graduating class Bilguutei Batbayar (Mongolia) remarked, “It wasn’t always easy to adapt to a new environment while studying. The fellowship I had with professors and students from various different countries in Handong greatly helped me. As I faced challenges and overcame them, I have matured. I’ve learned so much in Handong and I’m looking forward to future ahead of me.”
