Q 1.
The educational system in foreign countries is different from that in Korea. What is meant by elementary, middle/junior and high school?
    Answer.
    It applies to Korean standards where elementary school is from 1st ~ 6th grade, middle or junior high school from 7th ~ 9th grade, and high school from 10th ~ 12th grade.


Q 2.
While studying in elementary, junior/middle, or high school abroad, I skipped a grade. Can I be considered as having finished the 12year course of study?
    Answer.
    No, students who have skipped grades or have passed examinations given abroad are not acknowledged by Korea as having finished the 12 year course of study. If you have not completed 12 years of study, you must transfer and graduate from a Korean high school or pass the high school equivalency examination given in Korea to be eligible for admission to Korean universities.


Q 3.
Are missionary kids with missionary parents abroad who have enrolled and graduated from Handong International School eligible for special admission for missionary kids to Handong Global University?
    Answer.
    No, since Handong International School is a Korean domestic high school, you are not eligible for special admissions for missionary kids to Handong Global University even if your parents are missionaries.

Q5. Are students who studied in Home Schools abroad eligible for missionary kids or overseas students or foreigner students to Handong Global University?
    Answer.
    Regardness of the fact that your home school program was licensed by your country's goverment, students who have completed their education via home school are not permitted to apply.


Q 5.
What kind of English and Math tests are given in special admissions for missionary kids and overseas students to Handong Global University?
    Answer.
  • The English tests are similar to TOEFL, but only the written tests are given, but not the hearing tests.
  • The Math tests are similar to GRE. It tests basic mathematical skills learned during junior/middle school and high school.


Q 6.
Do the application forms have to be original documents?
    Answer.
    Applicants should do all they can to submit original documents. If for some unavoidable reasons applicants are unable to do so, they must submit the documents certified by a Korean consulate or embassy in their country, or by the embassy of the applicant's country in Korea.


Q 7.
Are students who have graduated or will graduate from International Schools in Korea eligible for special admission?
    Answer.
    No, these students are not eligible for admission because the Korean government has classified these schools as deficient to be recognized as schools of high standard.


Q 8.
Is it possible to have phone interview ?
    Answer.
    It applies only to foreign students.


Q 9.
How should the application form be sent?
    Answer.
    You can apply either by personally delivering to the University or sending it by mail. Your application must arrive in the admission office by 17:00 standard Korean time of the final day of application.
