All freshmen students enter Handong Global University without a major as part of the Global Leadership School (GLS). During their first year, students are educated in a liberal arts curriculum covering humanities, natural and social sciences, foreign languages, and Christian theology. This multidisciplinary program will foster in students a firm academic foundation that will prepare them for their future studies in Handong and beyond.

During their stay in GLS, students can explore various academic disciplines and discover which major program suits them best. At the end of their freshman year, students will choose their majors, without any restrictions based on grades or department quotas.
