Eligibility

  • - Students currently enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at HGU's partner universities
  • - Students who have completed at least one year of studies in their Home Institution
  • - Students who are willing to follow HGU culture, code, and all relevant policies as provided in the Handong Pledge
  • - Student with an open mind to cultural differences
  • - GPA: At least 2.5 out of 4.5
  • - Language Proficiency: B1 ~ B2 level of English proficiency
    • * No official English test score is required. However, students are expected to take classes in English or Korean and should be sufficiently proficient for these purposes.

Application Process

 
1. Nomination by Home Institution

Students must be officially nominated by their Home Institution before the application procedure may begin.

The exchange program coordinator of your university or a staff member of a corresponding position should submit a nomination via email with the following information:

Required Information

 1. Student name   *Must match the name on the passport 

 2. Gender

 3. Date of Birth

 4. Email Address

2. Online Application

Once a student is nominated by their home institution, they will receive application guidelines from HGU via email.

The application consists of two main parts:

1. Online Application using Google Form

2. Submission of Required Documents

- Academic transcript (since freshman year)

- A scanned copy of the student's passport

* Should not be in photo form

Recommendation Form

Handong Pledge Form

- A photo of the student

3. Application Screening

 

After a screening procedure by the Office of International Affairs (OIA), the results will be sent to students and their home institutions via email.

Students who are accepted will receive an Acceptance Letter along with further guidelines.

4. Visa Preparation

All exchange students must hold a D-2 Student Visa to study in Korea.

Visa documents, including those needed for the Visa interview, will be sent to the Home Institution.
