3. Qualification for applicant
One may apply with conditions detailed below in addition to the following: being able to instruct students with a view of one’s major in a Christian perspective, a whole-person education goal of our University, and understanding and participation of Christian mind and fulfilling of such goal.
A. Faculty

| Degree | Applicant may only apply with a Doctorate Degree in applying field or be a prospective Doctorate Degree Recipient before appointment date (either March 1, 2020 or September 1, 2020) with no grounds for disqualification to be appointed as a faculty member. However, failure to obtain a Doctorate Degree by the appointment date (if one has applied as a Prospective Doctorate Degree Recipient) will result in the cancellation of appointment. |
| Research Performance |
Applicant must have at least 200% Korean or International Research Performance within 3 years (November 15, 2016 ~ November 14, 2019) as per the end of Application Date. However, if an applicant acquired Doctorate Degree within 6 months from the End of Application Date can apply with more than 100% Performance. [ Calculation Basis when Evaluating Research Performances per Work ] 1) Korea Research Foundation Level: 100%; Doctorate Degree Paper: 100%; International Scholastic Paper (SCI, SSCI, SCIE, AHCI, SCOPUS): 200% 2) Recognized Conversion Rate for Research Performance : One-Person: 100%, 2-Person: 70%, 3-Person: 50%, 4 or More: 50% |

Applicant must possess a Doctorate’s Degree or have over 5 years of experience in a company with Master's Degree, with over 200% Research Paper Performance within last 3 years. (However, partial recognition may be accepted for records of Awards in an International Level Contest while being in a company.) |
| School of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering |
Besides the qualifications listed above, based on the criteria set by the Korean Association of Information Sciences’ ‘List of Superior Scholastic Presentations in Software Field for 2018’, theses presented in the A-Level and B-Level will be recognized with 200% (A-Level) or 150% (B-Level) acceptance rate. |
B. Criterion for Invited Professor Application
1) Applicant that fulfills criterion for Assistant Professor as listed by Law on Higher Education Article 16 and [Regulation on Qualification Criteria of University Faculty Member] Article 2. (Requires more than four years of teaching and research experience.)
2) Applicant that qualification requirement per Field of Appointment.
4. Necessary Documents
A. Step 1 : Applying first, Submit following documents.
- One Application Form (Issued by HGU) : View attached File. Fill out the form and submit it by e-mail. (glory@handong.edu)
B. Step 2 : Selected candidates from Step 1 must only submit following documents.
(1) Detail Application Form (Issued by HGU)
(2) One copy of transcripts and diplomas of all degrees (Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate.)
(3) One copy of confirmation of working experience (for the past 4 years only. When applicant becomes a finalist, confirmation of all work experience must be submitted.)
(4) One copy of license (if applicable)
(5) One copy of list of accomplishments in research activities (Title, researchers, date of presentation, publication, synopsis of paper, etc.)
(6) One copy of doctoral thesis
(7) One copy of research papers since Nov. 15th, 2016 ※ Five representative papers for the past 3 recent years(Doctor’s thesis can be included)
(8) Two Recommendation Forms
- One Recommendation each from Major and Non-Major(Faith) recommenders
- Recommendation Form(Issued by HGU) : We will send the file to applicants who pass the Step 1.
- A recommender should fill out the recommendation form and submit it by e-mail(glory@handong.edu) or mail directly.
- When a recommender sends it by e-mail, the title should be like this, “Recommendation_ the name of Applicant”. (Ex. If the name of applicant is “Michael Jordan”, the title of e-mail should be “Recommendation_ Michael Jordan”)

3) Step 3 : Interview (This step is applied only to those who pass Step 2. Applicants will be notified of the result via e-mail or phone)
4) Step 4 : Interview with president of Handong Global University (This step is applied only to those who pass Step 3. Applicants will be notified of the result via e-mail or phone)
6. Others
A. The ability to embody a Christian perspective and to teach students from this perspective should be proved in the self-introduction letter.
B. Recruitments may not be made if there are no eligible applicants
C. A finalist’s appointment can be canceled if the application form is found to be falsified.
