From March 14 to 17, Handong Global University joined the 2nd Korea · Africa Day, held in the General Assembly of Africa Educational Development Association, Dakar, Senegal with the goal of informing attendees on the excellence of Korean education.
At the conference, staff of the Ministry of Education, Good Neighbors, Korea Educational Academic Information Center, Korea Broadcasting & Communication University and Handong Global University participated in presentations and discussions on basic education, ICT education, and higher education with the title of ‘Prospects and Forecasts of Educational Accomplishments between Korea and Africa’
Professor Jinwon Ahn of Handong Global University joined a panel in the field of higher education and discussed the role of Korea for the development of higher education in Africa and future development directions for contributing to the development of education in Africa entitled ‘the necessity of highly qualified higher education increase’.
During the ceremony, the activities and achievements of UNITWIN; University Twining and Networking of HGU that were implemented in African countries were displayed in booths during the event. The representatives displays were charcoal moulder using shell of peanut in Uganda and stalk of Chad.
Handong Global University was selected as a host university of UNITWIN, UNESCO, and implemented training on global entrepreneurship, developing start-up items, strengthening technology development capacity building project, accumulating educational materials for developing countries in many developing countries including African countries.
HGU plans to further strengthen the capacity of local people so that they can stand on their own two feet by hosting entrepreneurship training courses in collaboration with NGO/iNGO and providing localized entrepreneurship and developing start-up items centered around the local hub center that is established in Africa with UNITWIN partner universities.
