HGU, open invitation to Wheaton College Choir Performance, Monday May 22nd

HGU (President Chang Soon Heung) receives an open invitation to Wheaton College Choir’s 30th anniversary performance, held on May 22nd at 7pm.

 

Wheaton College is a private Christian university located in Wheaton, IL, U.S.A.  It is a prestigious school that has been affiliated with HGU since 2015, and boasts alumni such as ministers Billy Graham and John Piper.

 

Wheaton College Choir has a mission to spread the Gospel through African American style praise worship, and is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a tour in Korea.  It plans to perform at Kosin University, Yonsei University, Ewha Women's University, Yoido Full Gospel Church, and Handong university.  Also, Wheaton will be conducting a joint performance with Korea’s Heritage Mass Choir.

 

 

 

The Wheaton Choir, consisting of 49 members, will perform hymns of praise and the Korean folk song Arirang.  Also, there will be accompaniment with HGU’s Carmichael Choir, which is made up of both Korean and international students.  The choir prepared songs that the audience could sing along with, and after the concert is complete, a reception giving a chance for the audience to visit with the choir members will be held on the 3rd floor of Hyoam Chapel.

 

President Chang Soon Heung said, “Sometimes we get hurt what we hear through other people’s voices.  I hope people find peace this by listening to these songs, and that many people sing along with beautiful voices, seeking joy and peace.”
