On September 27th and 28th (local time), Handong Global University Donation for Education Center (Head Professor Jung, Suk-Hee ) organized a ‘Local Community Job Experience and Dream Camp’ for two-hundred seventeen 7th grade students of Pohang Sin-heung Middle School.

Many individual donators and institutions that provide cooperative projects for donating education, such as this Donation for Education Center, participated in this event. On September 27th, the Hisbeans Corporate held a Barista Experience Program at the business place, and the UA Convention held a Job Searching Program for a ‘Local Community Job Experience’ event.

On September 28th (local time), the ‘Dream Camp’ event was held by lectures of individual education donators with topics such as ‘The Story of Magic’ by a professor in magic, ‘What is a Musician?’, ‘What Kind of Work do City Council Members Do?’, ‘Camera Skills Taught by a Photographer’, ‘Ways to be a Professional Information Security’.

Last year, Sin-hueng Middle School of Pohang City was selected as a ‘model school for education donation’, and had made an education donation program for the 1st year students at that time. To maintain the effectiveness of education donation resources, the center has selected and operated Sin-heung Middle school again as the ‘model school for education donation’. This year’s programs are especially held for students of all grades, and are providing customized programs to match the students’ demands to put effort on making more practical job experience opportunities.

Lee-Haeyeong, the Sin-heung Middle School teacher who guides students for future careers, said “When students think about their future, they are usually most interested in fields of art, music, and physical learning. This opportunity of meeting various professionals and experiencing jobs has been a meaningful time for the students to make decisions for the future.”

Jung Suk-Hee, the director of Donating for Education Center, said “I hope that this program will enable students to properly understand diverse careers and to build a future that fits their aptitudes.”

Meanwhile, the center is planning to hold a ‘Self-learning Camp’ for the 2nd year students of Sin-heung Middle School. The students who participate in this camp will learn self-learning study skills and ways to strengthen study motives by the lectures of individual education donators.
