Handong Global University implements the Joint Education Program with Myanmar in 2018

Handong Global University (President Chang Soon-Heung) implemented '2018 Myanmar's Joint Education Program' from October 29th to November 2nd with 30 professors from the Graduate School of Architecture at Yangon University of Technology (Y TU) in Myanmar and once again from October 30th to 31st with 25 professors from the University of Computer Studies, Yangon (UCSY)

   Professor Jung Sang-Mo and the other five faculty members from Handong Global University offered more than six hours of practice and lectures every day, holding workshops with the topic about 'Building Information Modeling, BIM' at the Yangon University of Technology. Also, a special lecture about Yangon, Myanmar's Smart City development was conducted. [Photo 1]

18 students from Handong Global Unversity's School of Spatial Environment System Engineering were allocated into 6 groups with 28 students from the Yangon University of Technology to practice computer architecture programs such as Nabis Walk and Levit.

Professor Jang Soo-Young and Doctor Son Moon-Tak gave a special lecture on blockchain and Doctor Seo Deok-Soo on Smart City to 25 graduate students and professors in the University of Computer Studies, Yangon. [Photo 2]

   Myanmar's Joint Education Program is one of the UNITWIN projects of Handong Global University, designated by UNESCO in 2007 as a University that supervises the competency strengthening of sustainable development in developing countries. Handong Global University has been developing and implementing a construction‧IT convergence Joint Education Program through Building Information Modeling (BIM) in cooperation with Yangon Technical University and the University of Computer Studies, Yangon since 2015.

   Handong Global University, for the operations of this Joint Education Program, has invited Professor Julien Kang (Kang Ho-Young), who holds Master’s degree in Building Information Modeling (BIM) from Texas A&M University, to open a camp on Building Information Modeling (BIM) and instruct 20 students from the School of Spatial Environment System Engineering, training essential teaching assistance for UNITWIN Myanmar Joint Education Program. Professor Jung Sang-Mo of Handong Global University shared business plans regarding next year’s UNITWIN Myanmar Joint Education Program and held discussions about elevating its agreement and MOU with President Mie Mie Thet Thwin of the University of Computer Studies, Yangon and Dean Theingi Shwe of the School of Architecture of Yangon Technical University.

President Mie Mie Thet Thwin  "Through the Joint Education Program cooperated between Handong Global University and the University of Computer Studies, Yangon since 2014, allowed our faculty members and students to receive Korea's advanced education. [Photo 4, 5]

   Myat Zar Chi Khaing who participated in the Joint Education Program in Myanmar commented, "Students in Yangon Technology University were not only studying during the training period but were improving on communication and cooperation skills. This will be a great resource to build Myanmar that we dream of. I hope that this curriculum will be implemented more often in the future."

 

UNITWIN project of Handong Global University is the International Development Cooperation Project that strengthens of sustainable development in 28 developing countries and 71 universities and institutions (data from 2017)
