Handong Global University, conducts an entrepreneurship training based on appropriate technology at Chad

- Establish cooperation with Chad Somang Society and i-Dream

- Conducted Appropriate Technology-based Entrepreneurship Training Program for Chad’s Youths

 

From Jan. 14th (Mon.) to 17th (Thur..), Handong Global University (President Chang Soon Heung) conducted appropriate technology-based entrepreneurship training in cooperation with Chad, the Somang Society and i-Dream, a Europe-accompanied growth research society of Chad, the poorest country in Africa.

   Professor Han, Youn-Sik and Prof. Kim, Yun Seon of Handong Global University and researcher Yoo, Dae-hyun conducted an appropriate technology-based entrepreneurship training for  70 Chad youths in N'Djamena, the capital of Chad, to solve the social problems of Chad and to create sustainable income for young people in Chad. In this training, Delegate Park, Geun-sun, a co-founder of Somang Society, Chad, and local entrepreneurs participated in the lecture and training on how to find various problems in the field and how to solve those problems through communication with consumers.

   Professor Han, Youn-Sik of Handong Global University gave a lecture on entrepreneurship to establish the business mindset of the participants. Praemel Mengt Caleb, the founder of a Chadian company Mymoca, delivered the story of Mymoca's founding and Chad's economic situation and what strategies should be used to start a business in reality.

Prof. Kim, Yun Seon of Handong Global University and researcher Yoo, Dae-hyun helped participants discover business ideas in social issues and ultimately develop business items and business models by lecturing and training business models.

"We hope that Chadian's young entrepreneurs will have the necessary training and that there will be a lot of successful entrepreneurship through the participants," said Oneg Jim Kuei, a local entrepreneur who helped train the participants in this appropriate technology-based entrepreneurship training. "It was a great opportunity to shape and deepen our business ideas, and the lectures using market research and business models were a very new and real lecture," said Aime Douh, a participant of the training.

 

Handong Global University plans to cooperate with Somang Society Chad to shape and implement the business model developed in this program and contribute to the income generation of Chadian youth and provide solutions of social problems in Chad.

* UNESCO UNITWIN (University Twinning and Networking) was established in 1992 with the aim of universities in developed countries supporting the universities in developing countries by networking with them to reduce the knowledge gap and to develop self-reliance. In Korea, Handong Global University was designated as the first university in Korea to manage UNITWIN in 2007, and Sookmyung Women's University in 2014 and Korea Broadcasting and Telecommunications University in 2017 as UNITWIN host universities.

* As part of the Ministry of Education's ODA program, Handong Global University has signed agreements with universities in developing countries, centering on the government's key partners, among the low-income countries classified by the World Bank, to strengthen each university’s capacity, and has established a regional base center in developing countries. Handong Global University is currently helping 71 universities and institutions in 28 developing countries (as of March 2018).
