Handong Global University (President Chang Soon-Heung) has held 2019 entrance ceremony in Hyoam Chapel, February 18th. Along with President Chang Soon-Heung, 1,500 people including professors, freshmen, and parents have attended the entrance ceremony. Starting with an opening remark made by Dean of Admissions, Park Young-Chun, the ceremony was carried out in the order of ▲Prayer (Dean of Student Affairs) ▲Sermon (University Chaplain) ▲Formal Oration (President) ▲Freshmen Pledge ▲Song of Blessing.

The number of undergraduate entrants of 2019 is 824 students, a total of 694 entrants coming from 423 domestic high schools with 227 entrants from Seoul, Gyeonggi-Do, and Incheon (27.5%), 176 entrants from Daegu and Gyeong-Buk region (21.4%), 98 entrants from Gwangju and Jeolla region (8.7%), 101 entrants from Daejeon and Chungcheong-Do region (12.3%), 20 entrants from Gangwon and Jeju region (2.4%), and 130 entrants from 109 international schools in 39 different nations (15.8%).

President Chang Soon-Heung said, “Dear 2019 generation of promise, let us bask in the enjoyment of faith, learning, and giving in Handong Global University, and strive to be a wise and creative member of Handong to become a fine problem-solver for our surrounding neighbors” and “I ask students’ parents to pray in abundance for Handong Global University to reshape the local society and the world, and to give incessant love and care for us.”

Freshmen representative Park On-Yu, who have pledged in behalf of all freshmen, have said, “I decided to come to Handong Global University with an expectation to view laws in the eyes of God and to grow to become a person who changes the world within the truth” and also aspiringly remarked, “I want to participate in various activities, such as Handong Global University’s unique team system. I will try my hardest to change today’s generation, continually asking ‘Why not change the world?’”.
On the other hand, the freshmen will, under the slogan of ‘Generation of Promise’, participate in an on-campus freshmen orientation HanST(Handong Spiritual Training), engraving the Handong members’ value through team meetings, special lectures, recreational events, introductions to school institutions and faculties, introduction to Residential College system, and Honor Pledge.
