On May 27th, the opening ceremony of the UNAI Ban Ki-Moon Institute for Global Education (IGE) at Handong Global University was held with the attendance of personages from all over the world and receiving attention due to it. During this event, Professor Shin Hye-In and senior student Yoo Dong-Hyun of the Handong Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation helped with the successful event progress.
In addition to this opening ceremony, the Handong Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation participated in the CallToAll 2016 Mission Strategy Conference, the 66th UN DPI / NGO Conference and etc., and provided simultaneous and sequential interpretation.
In particular, Professor Shin Hye-In was also the interpreter for numerous events including the groundbreaking ceremony of Handong Education Center, the International Conference for the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation at Handong University, and the UNAI Seoul Forum.
Professor Shin said, “It was an extraordinary experience for me to interpret the opening ceremony together with my student of Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation. It was truly meaningful because it was a great opportunity for a valuable education.”
Student Yoo Dong-Hyun, who interpreted with Professor Shin, stated, “Until now, I usually interpreted on-campus events and lectures, but it was a rare opportunity for me because it was an event where international organizations came. This made me nervous, but I was very thankful for this rare opportunity.”
