HGU (President Jang, Soon-Heung) establishes Happiness dorm, accommodating 286 students.
On March 21, HGU held the ground breaking ceremony for Happiness Dormitory II in the company of President Jang, Byung-Moon Ji, chairman of Korean Advancing Schools Foundation (KASF), and others.
The event was carried out in the order of progress report, congratulatory messages from President Jang and chairman of the board Byung-Moon JI, and the sod turning ceremony. The newly built dormitory will advance the academic environment with facilities such as student lounges, a fitness room, laundry rooms, a café lounge, Koinonia room, and others.
The KASF is funding 7.7 billion of the 8.5 billion won construction project of Happiness Dorm II. By the end of January 2020, the construction is expected to be complete, and the building is set to house 286 residents in rooms that sleep two students each. The construction of Happiness Dorm I was completed in 2017. It was also made possible by the funding of 13.8 billion won granted by KASF. The completion of this new dormitory will make on-campus residence available to 3,576 students, 82.5% of the 4,333 total.
President Jang remarked, “Once construction is complete, students will benefit from the improved academic environment.”
