Design Institute of Handong Global University (JinKoo Lee)won the *’Red Dot Design Award 2019’ the world's top three design awards, followed by the ‘iF 1 Design Award 2019’.

C.I. design for the *The Korean Association of National Team Members by the design institute received the 'Winner' prize in Communication & C. I. category of Red Dot Design Award 2019.

The award-winning Korean National Athletes' Association C. I. was created with the personified symbol by taking the national flag of South Korea, Taekgeugi, as its design motif. Then, the pictogram of each sports and other applications were developed by utilizing designed symbol marks and Chilgyo (the Korean traditional game), Obangsaek (the Korean traditional color spectrum), and etc.

The Korean Association of National Team Members and experts showed high satisfaction for the final work. The Red Dot judges also commended it for its useful and high-quality designs not only from the perspective of the Republic of Korea’s identity, tradition, but also from the perspective of internationality and trend of the times.

The award ceremony for the Red Dot Award: Brand & Communication Design 2019 takes place in Berlin, Germany, on 1 November 2019. The award-winning work will be included in the International Yearbook Brand & Communication Design, which is sold worldwide.

Meanwhile, the design institute, established and operated by Professor JinKoo Lee of the School of Content Convergence Design at Handong Global University, is conducting research and projects in C. I., advertising, typography, city, environment and public design based on the vision of "Let's Change the World with Design."

*The Red Dot Design Awards, considered one of the world's top three design awards, is the world's largest design competition that began in Germany in 1955 and has lasted 65 years under the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen (DZNRW). Evaluation is conducted in three categories, with Red Dot judges scrutinizing, reviewing, and discussing the 8,000 works submitted from around the world over several days. Red Dot Mark is recognized as an international design certification mark.

*The Korean Association of National Team Members was established in 2011 by former and current players of the Korean national team and currently consists of about 60 sports events. Through sports activities, it is contributing to the development of sports in the Republic of Korea by practicing community service and education for the youth, promoting harmony among athletes, and creating the right environment for athletes.It signed an MOU with Handong Global University in 2019 to cooperate and exchange expertise in many areas.
