Handong Global University (President Soon-Heung Chang) and the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Korea (Head Chairman Tae-Young Kim) signed for mutual exchange and cooperation on the 29th of June in the small conference room of Handong Global University’s Hyundong-hall.
The signing ceremony was attended by Handong Global University’s president Soong-Heung Chang, Director of the “Office of International Affairs” Jae-Chun Won, Pastor Sung-Ho Choi, Head Chairman of the “General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Korea” Tae-Young Kim, Department Head of the “World Missionary Society of the Presbyterian Church of Korea” Jin-Suk Park, and Head of General Aaffairs for the “World Missionary Society of the Presbyterian Church of Korea” Kyeong-Huan Ho.
In accordance with this agreement, both institutions have agreed for mutual cooperation in the exchange of personnel and material resources for the establishment of a missions-supporting platform, the operation of a missions-supporting internship program, and in the making of a missions-supporting educational program.
Head chairman “Tae-Young Kim” of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Korea stated that “just as the US Student Volunteer Movement of the 1800s brought forth innovation and a new breathe to mission work, it is my hope that this agreement will likewise bring a new strength to the current field of missionary work, which has become smaller in scale due to the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Handong Global University’s president Soon-Heung Chang added that “we will establish a missionary-supporting network through this agreement” and “I hope that a new student missionary model can be established through cooperating and collaborating with this network of missionaries.”
