-Handong Global Mission Center holds weekly mission forum
-‘The North Korean problem must also be resolved through the Gospel’

A mission forum was held at Handong Global University (President Do-Soung Choi) under the theme of North Korean missionary work. This forum seeks opportunities to cooperate with various majors of universities by knowing the needs of the region through acquiring vivid information from mission fields around the world. The mission forum, which runs for an hour every Tuesday from 12:00 P.M. to 13:00 P.M., is attended by more than 40 professors, students, and staff members, and give a chance to learn and ponder about mission.

While the ninth forum has been held so far, Dr. Michael Schluter, the author of The R.Factor , attended the ninth session to introduce a biblical approach to North Korea’s mission, sharing that forgiveness, peace, and the love of crosses are the key to solving the North Korean issue.

Reexamining the relationship between the two Koreas, Dr. Schluter said, “North Koreans, like South Koreans, work really hard and do their best in their work, and they are also people blessed by God. But they cannot afford a new perspective. We need to improve our relationship through continuous exchange.”

Min Je Kim (School of Spatial Environment System Engineering, 3^rd year), who attends the forum every week, said, “Thanks to the Mission Forum, my mindset toward mission has grown. I didn’t think much about the North Korean problem, but what they really needed was the Gospel, and it was clearly resonated with the fact that the love of the cross is the beginning of solving the problem.

The mission forum of Handong Global University will be held until December 6^th and will continue to be held under various themes such as humanitarianism, mission work, and mission work through majors, and anyone interested can participate.
